We ordered half-size salads because they are huge. A whole salad is a meal. A half-size Chop Chop salad is very substantial with romaine, rosemary-sage chicken, salami, smoked mozzarella, tomato, garbanzo beans, Parmesan cheese and a zesty balsamic vinaigrette. The icy greens were crisp and fresh tasting, an appetizing bed for the antipasta toppings. ($5.50) My walnut gorgonzola salad ($5.00) was also a bargain for so much crumbled cheese and toasted walnuts that dominated the salad along wirh mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, carrot strips and walnut-gorgonzola vinaigrette.
We shared a Capricciosa pizza ($9.75) which was just right for 2 people with average appetites. The thin trademark crust was nicely charred and blistered from the super-hot wood-fired oven and formed the base for the toppings: tomato sauce, artichoke hearts, cremini mushrooms, Kalamata olives, fresh mozzarella and paper thin strips of prosciutto ham. The combination of light ingrdients was appetizing rather than filling.
Redrossa is a sleek and inviting place with booth and table seating; or sit at the friendly counter with tall stools and get to know your neighbors. The menu offers great variety and creative combinations of not so common ingredients. Service is immediate and friendly. We 'll be back.
